Local Footballer having success in Greece

18 year old Kristofer Nicolaou born and raised in the South Granville/Guildford area has recently signed a contract with Greek Super League Club AO Kerkyra, playing against the likes of powerhouses, Olympiacos, PAOK and AEK Athens.

This is the young Aussies second season in the Greek professional leagues having played last season for second division club Annagenisi Karditsa. He has progressed and adapted very quickly to the profes
sional game out of his home country.

Kristofer played for Parramatta FC as a junior and at NSW NPL 1 teams, then spending a short period at the Football NSW Institute with Craig Foster as his coach before plying his talents in Greece.

Kristofer says, “the majority of my development has come from my young years in the Granville District and also attending Westfields Sports High School. I have great memories and can see how it has really helped me today.”

The young fullback may be on the other side of the world but doesn’t forget where his young career kicked off!

In the future we plan to see many more of GDSFA’s elite playing for Parramatta FC and then the professional leagues.
