Tony Basha Driving Change

After successive seasons of National Premier League relegation, a drastic change was needed at Parramatta FC.

That change is set to come in the form of one of the NPL’s most esteemed coaches as Guildford’s Tony Basha has been hired as the club’s new head of football.

The 39 year old has an extensive resume that includes four NPL grand final victories with Rydalmere FC and two NPL coach of the year awards.

After taking Rydalmere from NPL3 to NPL1 in five seasons, Basha said there was no doubt in his mind that he was the right man for the job.

“It’s time to rebuild the club to the top,” he said.

“I am originally a Parramatta FC player from when I was a kid. I played for the club half my life, so it’s like going back home.

“This will take an almighty effort but if anyone can do it, I can do it.”

Basha has wasted no time getting started.

“I have just returned from spending one month with Manchester City, A.S. Roma, FC Utrecht and Atletico Madrid’s academies getting new ideas for the club,” he said.

“We have made some changes at the top and brought in some excellent coaches from Spain to help the club become the best it can be. We have undertaken a review and have made some big changes to the joint from the office through to the players.

“We must get the club back to its glory days.”
